Luis CARDENAS
I grew up in the outskirts of Los Angeles. Taking music lessons at the age of 5 and playing at my dad’s freinds night clubs by the ripe old age of 7. I played in my first garage band as a 10 year old and emulated drummers like Peter Chris,John Bonham and Roger Taylor.
I was in several rock bands before starting my own band in the early eighties which I named “RENEGADE”. Renegade played locally at clubs like Gazzari’s, The Whisky A Go Go, The Troubadour and the Starwood. We were rubbing shoulders and playing the Hollywood
circuit with bands like Motley Crew, Poison and Quiet Riot.
Renegade started breaking nationally; opening for bands like Foreigner, 38 Special, Journey and Night Ranger.
I was also a singer and sang mostly backup vocals in Renegade but sang lead vocal in a few songs I composed for Renegade.
My music and persona gained national recognition in countries like Japan, Mexico and Canada as I embarked on a solo career. As a singing drummer like Phil Collins and Kelly Keegy of Night Ranger. I recorded a solo album called “Animal Instinct” which sold highly all around the World hitting platinum status. “RUNAWAY” my first video was number 1 around the world as well as being the most added video in history in all countries. I received a Grammy nomination and won several awards at film and video festivals for “RUNAWAY" around the industry.
In 1986 I was inducted into “The Guinness Book of World Records” for playing the Largest drum kit in the world played by a professional drummer. I recorded with
“The London Phil Harmonic” at the BBC for a video played in Europe for The Guinness World of Records show.
I have recorded and produced several albums for myself and other artists. “Touch of Paradise”, “GENERATIONS”,
“LatterReign”, “Black” and “Shameless” to mention a few of the albums.
I’ve had great success in the music industry and am delighted to have performed in front of so many unbelievable audiences around the world. Music has been a ride to remember and a thrill that will never go away.
See You at the show !
